Hey, world! It’s Lora.
Looks like Bulgaria has given us a very hot and sunny weather lately and I’m loving it! 😉 I’m definitely going to take advantage of it as I have some awesome road trips and activities planned. However, one of my favourite things to do in summer is listening to music… NON-STOP! (especially when I’m travelling) So why not make a list of my favourite summer tunes, right?
Bellyache (Marian Hill Remix) – Billie Eilish
“Sittin’ all alone, mouth full of gum, in the driveway. My friends aren’t far in the back of my car, lay their bodies…”
I recently found Billie Eilish’s music and I’m so happy about it because it’s very unique and different. Honestly, I have to say that I enjoyed the remix more than the original song. It has a great rhythm and I’m planning to do a choreography on it. Let’s see how it turns out! 😀
Ocean Eyes – Billie Eilish
“I’ve been watching you for some time. Can’t stop staring at those oceans eyes…”
Another one of Billie Eilish’s great songs but it’s slower and there are mostly vocals.
Rodena Takava – DARA
“Там има някой, който да ѝ отива, да отваря вратата пред нея и да я разсмива…”
This is a Bulgarian song with a very catchy beat. I watched DARA perform it live at a concert in my town and I couldn’t help but dance! ❤
Can’t Get Enough – Basenji
“I can’t get enough of you. Oh, I’m falling into this again…”
I heard this song for the first time in my favourite film – “Nerve” (it’s in the soundtrack). Since then, I can’t stop listening to it.
Ne Si Za Men – Kristian Kostov
“Понякога искам да те прегърна. Понякога бягам и пак обръщам се назад…”
Another Bulgarian song on the list – the debut of Kristian Kostov (who, in case you didn’t know, won 2nd place in Eurovision 2017). I like the rhythm and the lyrics.
Feel It Still (Lido Remix) – Portugal. The Man
“Ooh woo, I’m a rebel just for kicks, now. I been feeling it since 1966, now. Might be over now, but I feel it still…”
I’m in love with this one because of its energetic beat and summerish feeling. Plus, the remix is FIRE!!
Leave me a comment with YOUR favourite summer song, so I can listen to it. You can also follow me on Instagram (@my.messy.blog) because I post a lot of cool stuff there too. If you’re interested in seeing my last year’s summer playlist, here’s a link: A Summer Playlist 2016. Wishing all of you a lovely day! ❤
Today, was the last day of the school year and my mark is A! I am so glad that I got this mark because I worked hard to achieve my aims and the final result is awesome.
HUrraYyyY! 😉 Finally school is over and the summer vacation is waiting for me! I am so excited to go on bike rides, have waterballoon fights, make picnics, read books and dance… ❤ I can finally have a rest and stop studying. For the summer vacation I am going to visit my grandparents (just like every year) with my little brother and stay there for about two months. It’s always fun and I usually celebrate my birthday (23rd July) there too. Here is my summer plan + all the activities I’m planning to do:
• ride my bike every day • send letters to my besties
• organize waterballoon fights • make picnics with my grandpa
• head to the library every week • listen to music and dance
• invent my own drink • draw
• grow my own tiny garden • make new friends
Share with me your summer plans! xo, Lora
Hello, world! It’s Lora. As most of us are in summer vacation now, I decided to make a little more “summerish” post. I will show you 5 reasons why summer is COOL. Let’s see…
1. Daylight Delight
In the summer season, areas in the extreme north or south receive a lot of sunlight. In places like Alaska, St. Petersburg and Russia (top) the sun doesn’t set until midnight in June. During the summers in Antarctica, the sun doesn’t set at all!
2. Meteor Shower Power
In 20th July, meteors an hour fly through the sky during the Delta Aquarid shower. That was an amazing sky view! 🙂 In summer there is a bigger chance to see meteors.
3. Chirp Alert
You know it’s summer when the crickets start chirping. Crickets actually change their tune depending on the temperature. When it is hot, they chirp very fast. You can even calculate how hot it is by listening and counting a cricket’s chirps. How cool is that! 😉 Here you can see how:
the number of chirps in 15 seconds + 37 = the temperature in Fahrenheit
4. Mega Growth
Flowers aren’t the only things that grow in summer. Kids grow up faster too because they play a lot outside on the sunlight. The Eiffel Tower can “grow” over six inches taller during the season when heat makes its iron expand. That’s awesome!! XD I can’t believe it… Scientists even think your nails grow faster at this time but they aren’t completely sure why.
5. Ice Cream
This is the last reason…and it’s the funniest also…EVEN THE ICE-CREAM IS MORE DELICIOUS IN SUMMER!!
